I'm looking to fly ORD-HRE next February. I'd like to fly in C as much as possible. Unfortunately I don't have enough miles for an award from North America to Africa. However, I do have enough miles to fly in C from Europe. I also don't mind flying E+ to Europe (although that's about my limit).

Is it possible to arrange an itinerary that includes paid flights ORD-Europe and awards Europe-HRE? Can it be on one itin, or do I need to split them up?
