Avoid LHR at all costs.

One of my home airports is ORD. I fly rather frequently to London and I'm to the point where I do it ORD->FRA->LCY just to avoid LHR. I'm also usually going to the Docklands, so LCY can cut an hour or two of ground transit in London out.

I am always mystified why one needs to pass through two somewhat painful security checks in T2 to go LCY or LHR from FRA, yet to go to the US from T1 at FRA, security is a breeze. The only real hassle at FRA coming to the US is the slow moving check in line, but I usually check in at the AC, so not a problem for me.

London better watch out. The buzz in the business world is that London is becoming the global financial center at the expense of New York because of SOX. London may become unattractive to the rest of the world as its airports are just so painful to transit.
