At my home airport, they are on the other side of the aisle. Of course they are for people without bags. If you don't have bags, just more convenient to use than dealing with the chickens that the checked-bag people are using (with their 17 pieces of luggage)

Most airports already do this, so this is a non issue anyway, rather pointless post, as considering most airports with chickens have both bag and bag less.
If they are hard to find, then the OP needs to research the airport rather than complaining about them not being available.
Try checking out the airport map before you attend an airport. If not all of us do that anyway, you never fly in blind.
