AS MVPG or DL SM?
In past years, I made 2 or 3 trips to ANC or JNU from IND, several other domestic runs (mostly to the west coast), and 2 or 3 transatlantic trips. I used AS, NW/KLM, and DL, depending upon destination, schedule, and price. This year I’m flying much less, but can reach MVPG on AS by Oct. if I put all the trips into my AS account.
The European trips are in paid BE on DL, with the domestic leg in F and the international in I. With the COS bonus, each trip should yield over 15K MQM on DL, which means I can keep SM on DL if I use my DL # instead of AS # for those trips. But, in that case, the other trips will earn me only a little over 20K for my AS account (not all on AS), which means I miss MVP next year. And due to poor planning, about half of those miles are already credited to AS.
Does Silver on DL, a Skyteam member, offer more “value” or options than MVPG on AS? Although my air travel will decrease even more next year, there will be at least 2 European trips, but maybe only 1 to ANC. I’ll still be doing a few AS flights, but it looks like more will be on either NW or DL.
Help. I need some opinions (biased or otherwise) from other FT members!
