Channel 9 disabled when irrgular op occurs
Not sure if this happens routinely, but I was on an IAD-SEA flight Sunday a.m. with Channel 9 all the way until approaching Seattle. Then, a missed approach began and channel 9 went to music. Pilot comes on a says there is a problem with the flaps that they were dealing with. Wouldn't you think that would the best time to keep passengers informed about what the situation is? There is nothing (for me) worse than not being informed about what is happening. Perhaps ignorance is bliss for others.
Your thoughts. Any UA pilots out there want to chime in about policy in these situations?
