Personally, I would call the SPG today. I noticed that your profile says Uk. Are you currently there giving SPG an excuse not to call?

I wouldn't put up with this. They are clearly at fault so they should not only pay your ticket, they should give you * points for the embarrassment and having to chase them down to resolve this.
