Follow-Up Questions
There are a number of websites, such as itunes.com, which designate their offerings of goods based on the residence of the prospective purchaser. Itunes does this by your credit card. Presumably, a Canadian bank (such as BMO) issues a credit card with a numbering scheme which identifies the bank as based in Canada, and therefore the holder of the card is treated by itunes as resident in Canada. I have assumed, but never checked, that this even applies for the Mosaik Card (US$ credit card BMO offers).
With regard to Itunes, there are many TV shows which are not downloadable by Canadians. There is an epidoes of Battlestar Gallactica I missed this season and would love to download....
I have heard it virtually impossible for a Canadian to obtain a credit card from a US bank without a social security number, notwithstanding what the previous poster just stated about the Bank of America. There was apparently a clampdown after 9/11.
Can anyone contradict, amplify, shed light, etc. on the facts above?
