In the past, I was easily able to get fee refunds by e-mailing Chase through their secure system. However, my Platinum Visa fee has just posted, so I e-mailed them and got a reply saying that the fee is "nonrefundable" unless I cancel the card within 30 days. I replied asking whether the fee refund program for 1Ks had been canceled. I got a reply from someone else saying, again, that I can cancel the card within 30 days, but making no mention at all to my 1K status.

I've just sent a third e-mail, asking, in even more explicit terms, to answer whether the fee waiver program for 1K has been discontinued or not. I guess I'm just getting clueless agents (since their responses are generic and make no mention to my 1K status at all), but will report on the outcome.

I do have another Chase card for which I had the annual fee refunded ($60), but all my cards were opened before September 1, 2006, so, according to the info gathered in this thread, I should get full refunds on all of them. We'll see.
