That might be a little strong. I haven't had any luck with the "low-fat" option in my profile, but as long as I call once after ticketing and more than 24 hours before takeoff, I always get the meal I request if I was confirmed in that cabin.

The Hindu vegetarian meal has been pretty consistently good. Frequently, it's a hot spicy curry of vegetables with a grain or pasta of some kind. I was told by one purser that the Hindu meal out of London is spectacularly good. Couldn't say, don't go there anymore.

Oh, it's also good to keep in mind that some flights just don't offer meal choices. I don't think you can ever get a special meal on an ex-Shuttle 737 without ovens -- at least, I've not succeeded. So, eat the fruit, skip the cheese.
