I heard the same rumor, usually in connection with getting the 190's or Republic getting 175's - more airplanes allowing new markets (though AUS was served by US at one time).

However, with 7 East 737's going back to the leasors and only 7 more 190's coming this year, the only additional airplanes will be the 175's and they will be partially offset by 5 of Republics 170's leaving USX.
