I know this is a year-old thread, but am trying to see if I am missing something new.

I need to get to AUS in mid-July. Might leave from PIT, or from ATL/GSP where we'll be headed for a wedding.

I was shocked to see US charges $750+ when everyone else is around $200. Then I realized the routing is only through PHX. Is that the only reason prices are so high (they dont really want to sell the route?). I couldnt find any US-East city with decent prices to AUS...

How is it US never saw fit to add CLT or PHL service to AUS?

I see comments above on adding lift, but with all the PIT downgrades you would think there was more available.
