The only issue I've had with the ex-Song 752s has been the unavailability of some of the 'live' TV channels (particularly NBC) on the transcons, but never a full outage. All the non-'live' elements (movies, games, music) have always worked...

Part of the problem may have been turning on the TVs while still on the tarmac...Quite a few FAs have told me that the system is supposed to work only after takeoff, and that doing this 'out-of-sequence' will often cause problems....
Very true! I learned this the hard way. On a recent JFK-SEA flight, I thought I was smart and turned off my Tv while on the tarmac. The guy next to me did the same thing. Well, once up in the air, neither one of our TVs worked. Lesson learned!

In a related topic, I wish the FAs would once again announce that the screens are "touch" screens, not "punch" screens! I've heard that a few times but it was a loooong time ago.
