Before seeing your message, I was going to suggest that maybe the liason is on vacation with no replacement. Despite the problems, I'd hate to lose IB's partnership. Customer service is different in some countries. For what it's worth, AA got an IB liason on the phone for me once, and resolved my invalid award within the hour. In another case IB released an extra seat for me.

P.S. As for seats being taken back, I think this is why TAM now requires immediate ticketing. You cannot hold a reservation at all. ..although it's likely they're about to leave anyway...
