Some doctors have their heads up their arses and have forgotten why they went to medical school in the first place. If they're only after the cash, then I would suggest they have their priorities wrong.
No doctor owes every human being a duty of care--that's patently unreasonable. You state that an MD is "bound by his code of ethics", as though there were legal force to the Hippocratic oath.

You must also believe firmly that politicians take office with only their constituents' interests at heart. After all, they are "public servants".
