I thought we were comparing International to International Connections Same airport connection.Seems you have to bring an Airport change into the argument to Justify what I highlighted. No wonder you are

My Last Transfer from BKK-LHR-MAN with a 2 hour Late arrival in LHR at 9am instead of 7am [Missing The Peak Rush..took me 18 minutes from T4 Gate to T1 Domestic Lounge and shower, Fast-Track for Premium Passengers helped [something that does not exsist in USA] And I did not have to remove my shoes at LHR-FCC security. My Bags were transfered for me and thankfully this time, for a T4 to T1 they actually made it. That was for an INT-DOM transfer which involves an additional Immigration Inspection, so T4-INT to T1 or T2-INT could in fact have been even Quicker and Easier. As for a T4 to T4 connection for Premium Passengers that never takes more than 5 minutes. It takes longer than that to walk from Gate M1 in ORD to the Immigration Line.

And as you are aware for some extraordinary Reason when connect via LHR into MAN you never even see a Customs Official [I Think you have to Phone them on Arrival at T3 in MAN] Not stand in line with a stupid piece of paper to say you have nothing to declare.

Now my Transit in ORD last week to YUL almost 80 minutes and a B!tch of an Immigration Inspector who could not Understand why a Bahamian Resident with a UK Passport, wants to Transit USA to get to Canada.

Number of Lines Waiting INT to INT.... Lines at ORD 6...Number of Lines at LHR 2....QED or Only One if T4 to T4

And I will not even compare the Bus Service between ORD and MDW versus LHR and LGW.
