SSSS is not fun but is not too bad IF you have time to have any carryons checked, so it is still worthwhile if one is keen to use your credits.

With our non-USA passports, Mrs B and I are usually randomly selected as SSSpecial guests. At KOA it took a long time as a camera, computer, two pairs of hiking shoes and a lot of other little items were swabbed. Probably took the agent 20+ swabs to ensure some holidaying/honeymooning Aussies weren't waging jihad in the air on an AQ flight.

We had plenty of time so just watched the agent do through EVERY single item in our carryon. It took 5 times as long (at least) as our flight HNL-KOA. Aloha to KOA TSA for so rigorously checking us...
