Luckily, on most of our honeymoon flights we flew Club World or Club Europe and, therefore, didn't hope for (and didn't get) anything more.

I did indicate when I was booking hotels (either by telephone or internet) that we were on our honeymoon. We definitely got an upgraded room once (in Barcelona), which was nice because it was the first stay on our honeymoon trip and were certainly were given several nice rooms along the way (in Morocco and Cadaques), but we also got at least one so-so room (Madrid). No other VIP treatment at our hotels, but we weren't staying in the kinds of places that would be likely to splash out with champagne, etc.

The most unexpected, and very pleasant, VIP treatment we got was at the start of our trip, in Amsterdam, where I attended a business meeting/conference before our honeymoon officially started. (I'd postponed the honeymoon by a week or so to accommodate this trip, which also enabled us to fly business class to Europe - me on a ticket paid for by my employer and my husband on a companion fare). When the chairman of the working group in which I was participating learned that I was taking time out of the honeymoon for his meeting, he gave my husband and me his (classical) concert tickets for an event the next night.
