ZURICH, Switzerland (CNN) -- At least 9 people survived and 10 others died when a Swiss jetliner crashed in bad weather on approach to Zurich International Airport on Saturday night, authorities said.
Crossair Flight 3597, carrying 28 passengers and five crew members, went down around 10 p.m. (4 p.m. EST) in a wooded area in Basserdorf, between three and four miles from the airport.
A police spokesman said they were looking for 14 people still missing. Authorities believe those people may have survived the crash and are walking around in shock, he said.
Flight 3597 left Berlin at 9:01 p.m. (3:01 p.m. EST) and crashed 15 minutes before its scheduled landing in Zurich, officials said.
The plane -- an Avro RJ100, also known as a "Jumbolino" -- was flying through a mix of snow and rain when it crashed, but officials said they could not confirm that weather played a role in the crash.
