It's annoying. I know since I've experienced two false fire alarms at Hyatts in 2007 (after never experiencing one before). But it never occurred to me to ask for compensation for this.

Now that you've raised the issue, I've thought about it. I still won't ask for compensation if it happens again unless there are other significant extentuating circumstances.

Rumors that false alarms might have happened before at the property would NOT count as significant extenuaing circumstances to me.

Maybe everyone else thinks differently, but that's my view.
