It may seem "fun and cool" now, but unless you have a tireless thirst for tourists and street denizens, I could see the Upper Haight getting old real quick.
(I'm sure some Upper Haight lovers will chime in to defend the neighborhood, but personally, I can't stand it save the occasional trip to Amoeba.)
I'm biased having lived on 15th betweeen Church and Dolores for several years, but how 'bout that area (bordered by Market, Dolores, 20th, and Church, give or take a few blocks). From my perspective, the location can't be beat. Plus, we get a few more minutes of afternoon sun than those Lower Haight folks.
