I'm not sure I understand you correctly, but I think you are saying that a reservation was made for mulitple rooms. The hotel later emailed you stating that they feel you have reserved too many rooms and they are now cancelling all or some of your reservations. Is that about right?
I would suggest you give Marriott Reservations(MR) a call. Let them know that you had guaranteed reservations and that you can forward the email confirmations to them as needed. Then let them know that the hotel without your consent cancelled those reservation and that you did NOT want those reservations cancelled. Hopefully you kept both your reservation confirmation emails and the hotel email stating that they are cancelling your reservations. That way you send copies to MR of both if needed. Depending on who you talk with in reservations, you may need to escalate the issue to a supervisor. Don't hesitate to do that if the customer service rep you are talking with isn't being helpful.
