Seems our complaint isn't whether the pilots have a legitimate beef over the ruling, but rather their decision to take it out on two groups (company and passengers) who had nothing to do with and and have no ability to change it.
Facing that reality, what do they expect as an outcome? An angry mob? Personally, I wouldn't want the "mob" from the ramp coming after me...

The arbitrator was George Nicolau, non-airline employee.
