Apologies for the piggyback posting, but I have a related question. Last year I cancelled a wholly unusued ticket on QF and my 12 months to re-ticket runs out July somethingth. I am not sure that by July I will be able to commit to a date to travel to Oz (or anywhere else, for that matter), so I am wondering whether there was any way to book a ticket but leave *all* the segments (including the first) open-dated, giving me another 12 months to find availability and get it ticketed. Or is that just wishful thinking??

Second question is that if the above is not possible, can I assume there would be no problem with me using the refund credit to bring some family over here?
