Slightly OT - food in hand baggage when transiting at LHR

Hi all,

I'll be transiting through LHR in a few weeks from LIN to BOM...and have a shopping list of foodstuffs to buy for folk here in BOM - Parma ham, Parmesan cheese, smoked sausage etc etc. I'd quite like to use hand baggage only, to avoid the BAggage handlers losing it at LHR - connection is a little tight (2000-2150) but doable I think, and I'm only away for a few days so clothes etc wise this is perfectly feasible. But I was wondering what the goons at LHR FCC might make of the ham etc. Guidelines say that solid food is fine but...anyone got any experience/advice?

Ignore for a moment if you can the issue of entering BOM with the food...

Thanks!
