If they don't trust local security, why do they allow their aircraft to fly to that destination? Funny how each of those airports seem to pass ICAO standards. Funny how other airlines trust the local standards.

The weapons security type inspection they conduct on arrival isn't going to locate most drug shipments, if that's what they are looking for.

If they were really concerned about security and didn't trust the locals, wouldn't it make more sense for SQ to put its own secondary security screen in the gate area?

I don't find it amusing in the slightest. In fact, I find it downright annoying.
