Agent: One moment please.... The business award is not available for this flight.
Me: So right now I will get upgraded first at the airport provided that the seats aren't bought out by people paying for them first?
Agent: Correct.
In conclusion, I will be royally pissed if this doesn't go through, especially if Ps, Es, or SEs get in with their U/Gs. ...I'm going to go to the airport right after work the day before after OLCI to check in/print out real BPs with the kiosk and to talk to a CI agent while I'm there. I'll also enter my boss' SE# into the kiosk for kicks (with his permission of course). ...
there is a different protocol to changing a booking
prior to day-of-flight and joining a standby list for airport upgrade
upon checkin. Just because you ask a similar question X number of times, you don't get to choose the answer you prefer in your attempt to ensnare an Agent on the phone who at least is trying to answer in good faith and is correct in scope. Humans make mistakes in details, but your use of your boss' SE number, for example, can be construed by some as an attempt at some sort of fraud. (What exactly is that about, after all?)
