Thanks so much for the awesome advice! I'm going for sightseeing, shopping and eating, in addition to the Salon, so I think it makes sense to choose for walkability and neighborhood setting rather than closeness to the Paris Expo. I've narrowed down my choices of apartments to 2 locations. Could you help me decide which location is better? One is located in the Latin Quarter near the Pantheon, but the listing on the Studio in Marais sounds like it is a more charming neighborhood.

I haven't studied both lisitings in detail but were you aware that the one in the 5th (Latin Quarter) is four times the size for not that much more cost?
Both the Marais and the Latin Quarter are good places to stay. That apartment in the Marais is pretty small (there are 10.5 square feet in a square meter) and at $1,100 a week, pretty pricey. Also, while it is hard to measure, but the Metro stations they list with that one could indicate that the studio is in part of the Marais with a lot of active nightlife and noise.
