I did because I lost my Aussie passport and tried to use the USA one instead. I thought it was no problem because I was only visiting for a month. However, it didn't take long for them to hear me talk and then take me away to talk about it. They were nice and just explained that I could not do this. They also explained that I am better off being Australian as I can get treated in a hospital if I get sick. They looked me up on the computer and I was entered without a passport as Australian.
