Also beware-- Just because you buy a Y, B or M coach seat doesn't mean you will be able to upgrade using miles. There must be G class inventory available for the flight(s). G is the award fare class assigned to mileage upgrades. You should call Delta (or use expertflyer) to ensure availability of G inventory before you book.

Good idea though (as previously posted) to check for an A (discounted first).
