What a ridiculous situation! It's good that you were there as a somewhat impartial observer to help explain the situation to the pilot.

Clearly the co-pilot needs some help, and clearly the couple involved should be incensed. And if they were the ones posting here I'd definitely support their sending something to someone and get some sort of compensation. But should you do anything? Honestly, I don't think so, since you weren't directly involved.
