Completely agree with both... for NWA to "win" labor has to be happy. The only way to do that is for labor to have a stake in the game, and to know that they will profit as the stock rises and the company makes a profit. In reading CO's annual report, they have a profit sharing program, thats what NWA needs to enact right now... defuse the labor situation NOW because after they exit BK if they havn't placated labor... I can see the picket signs and CHAOS coming in mid-July.

Labor is (and has always been) the biggest missing piece of the puzzle at NW. The only way the airline can be successful in its current incarnation is for the management to gain the support and cooperation of all of the employees. Otherwise, NW will be liquidated by strikes or drive its talent away to become a shell run by incompetent, inexperienced minimum wages slobs and contractors.

If the company does well: you get a kicker. If the company does well AND you get a bunch of positive TTU's: You get another kicker. This is the way businesses are run in this day and age. "Skin in the game" is the best way to get employees involved. Hell, most probably do not know or care what the stock price is at NWA. In my industry, EVERYONE from CEO down to shipping dock know exactly where the stock price is..
