Sorry, please excuse my ignorance. It is not a situation I have come across. In 12,000 threads on V-Flyer, I don't remember seeing a waitlist for UC mentioned before.

I would assume that - as your friend is willing to part with cold hard cash - that she would remain top of the wait list, only being surpassed by a gold member willing to pay for an upgrade.

I am sure one of the regular VS J pax would be able to give a more informed opinion.
