Just got a postcard today that will give me silver medallion status until Feb 2003. I have to fax the postcard in with a copy of a statement proving that I have elite status with any other airline. I'm currently Gold with USAir and PremierExec with United.

I suppose that I could have just called Delta and request a comp status. I fly Delta a couple of flights a year(out of 110)and never really cared about having status, because I doubt if I could maintain it.

But what caught my eye was how overt this promotion is! I always thought that "comping" was one of those business practices that was never advertised by the airlines.

Anyone else received anything like this from Delta or any of the other airlines?
