There's an eel restaurant right across the street from the tourist information center, and the day that I was there, a guy was sitting in the front window of the restaurant methodically killing and skinning eels by the bucketful. Sitting in the restaurant enjoying some delicious unadon, I could see the horrified looks of the foreign passersby.
