A couple days ago I called the Executive Club US & was able to secure a couple Business Class tix LAX - NRT - BKK/return on Japan Air Lines for 200K BA Miles. Yesterday, I phoned again and was also able to score 2 Y Class tix for my two daughters for travel the end of summer, LAX - Shanghai/return, also on JAL for 100K BA Miles. My first choice to Asia is usually Cathay, but award tix on Cathay using BA Miles were unavailable on the dates I preferred.

Award travel on JAL on my requested dates using BA Miles was really easy to secure. I guess that now that JAL has recently joined the oneworld alliance, the ability to obtain award travel with Partner Airline Miles hasn't yet been a problem? Has anyone had similar experience with booking award travel ex-UK to Asia on JAL using BA Miles?
