I know on the old US Air website, I could book flights with miles and hold the reservation for 3 days. Just tried to book online but couldn't see this "hold" option. Am I missing something or do I need to call? Thanks.

You cannot hold anything online. I believe that you may be able to hold something by phone, but I am not sure how long you can hold reservations these days.
