2 winter ago, we were stuck at OAK for *8* (yeah, eight) hours while they repaired our plane... they would have cancelled it except there were no more seats for 3 days (on any airline), so they went with the fix. Thankfully we got out of there right before the crew went illegal... yeesh.
Anyway, somewhere around hour 6 of the delay,
finally the GA announces meal vouchers (long after many people had already gotten meals, of course)... instead of printing meal vouchers, they instructed us to get the restaurant to sign our boarding passes (much more efficient, at least they got that part right). Of course, all they gave us was $7... which was just enough for a single slice of Round Table pizza and a fountain drink. Perhaps UA needs to re-evaluate the cost of living in the Bay Area...
