The problem with this otherwise excellent suggestion is that (if you are not also WP, which you probably would not be at that age) you have to actually be flying that day to use your discounted lifetime QP. For the hypothetical lifetime WP status (which does not exist), you would not have to be travelling, and, when you occasionally did fly, you would also get the 100% status bonus.
