I have this right now on my screen when trying to eCheck-in at Hilton Garden Inn, Westbury:
<name>, since your upgrade was not available, we have selected the following room for you:
Room <number>
1 KING BED JR SUITE
NO-SMOKING ROOM; PULL OUT COUCH; SUITE; FLOOR <number>;
Well, if a junior suite isn't considered an upgrade, what would then an upgrade look like?
Note: <name> and <number> is my edit
When echeckin gives you a message saying that your room has already been selected, it means that the hotel has already preassigned your room in advance and in your case, already upgraded you in advance. The system is saying no upgrade is available since its trying to upgrade you from what the hotel assigned to you and of course since its a HGI, the best you can get is a Jr Suite.
