I continue to be reminded about how completely useless this benefit is. The only thing they seem to do is send me spam. When the PS3 came out, they didn't see fit to enable me to get one. I asked to be put on the list several months in advance, but I got the sense that the guy just "yes'ed me" and didn't do anything. Sure enough, I found out after launch that I was not on the list at all. I was apologized to, and assured I was put on the list. Now there is a surplus of PS3s at the stores, and I have still not been offered one from Cierge (I added myself to the list on both the east coast *and* west coast Cierges)
I responded to their latest spam with a message that just said, "How am I doing on the list for a PS3?" (Of course, I bought one at the store in November). They responded saying that they could get me one if I wanted.
Now I got this e-mail from them on Wednesday:

It is beyond a joke! A few years ago I emailed about the PSP. They told me I was too late to get on the list and supplies were just sooo tight, they coulndnt get many. I aked what the heck was cierge for? I went to Best Buy on opening day and had no problem getting one. They were all over the place. There was no shortage. With the PS3 they did me a favor to get me on the list for this SUPER SPECIAL product. Never heard a thing. After the fact I know a friend that could have got me one due to a high level connection with Sony. I am glad I didnt get PS3 because it looks like a stiff.
Cierge is good for one thing. They will sell you whatever you want at FULL list price.
