I booked a room at the Niagara Fallsview over the phone for a 1 bdrm suite in July. Immediately after booking I searched around the internet and found the same room slightly cheaper at Fallsview.com. I booked it and tried to do a BRG pricematch plus 10% off.

I was denied the pricematch, this was the reason given "The restriction that is preventing your claim from being approved is that the websites compared are being from the same company, therefore I have t o denied yoru claim".

First of all, I didn't see in the rules where that the web site with the lower rate must not be an SPG website for the BRG to apply

Secondly, it isn't clear to me that Fallsview.com is owned by the same company as Starwood, I didn't see any login that calls for an SPG ID (it is a totally separate login through Niagara Central Reservations).

Lastly, I find it disappointing that SPG doesn't guarantee the best rate from each of their websites, like other companies such as Marriott do.
