I was once in a party of 12 in first class traveling to a caribbean country. This route is always full in first class, and we were traveling with some young children. First class was overbooked by 1 seat, and an elderly woman was told she wouldn't have a seat. She made a scene about the children being in first, etc., but needless to say we got our seats and she wound up in the back.
