Two bags of 50 lbs each is quite a lot, should easily contain everything needed for the child. I'm currently on an extended business trip, picked my biggest bag, packed 7 shirts, 4 trousers, exercise shorts & t-shirts, 3 pair of shoes, swim trunks, lots of socks & underwear, 2 books, loads of drugs, some tools. Seemed very heavy (& I still had lots of room in this suitcase), so I put it on the scale - only 31 lbs.

50 lbs is an awful lot, and you've got 2 of them.
