The room type is described on the website as:
Deluxe Room, 1 king or 2 double beds...so I do know that they have double doubles.

The situation is exactly as hhoope01 reads it. I made my res. as a Gold. I am now a Plat (at least it says so when I log in to marriott.com). I think that this means I should get the double double I have requested. At least I hope that this is what it means.

I do see craz's point. One could use this to request bed types a hotel is out of, just in order to get the $100. I think it is more likely, however, that you'd get the bed type requested. In my case, I don't want the $100, I want the double double. I'm sharing the room with my husband and 12-year-old son, and I really don't want to pile the three of us into one bed. We can deal with a rollaway, but I don't want to pay GBP 25 per night (we're talking $200 for the 4 nights!) for what should be a free room. Even with the $100 compensation, I'll still be out $100.
Ok seeing this res now, it seems cause its for an award stay it listed both types of rooms and that indeed you requested Doubles but it came back as Not available. So I would say if and it seems to be the case that you would be a Plat at the time of the Stay, then Yes it should become the Hotels problem of How to come up with the Double for you.

If in fact you want Doubles then email the Hotel or call back up to the Plat desk and inform them, a roll-away even if they dont charge you will take up alot more space in the room and sleeping on it wont be nearly as restful as a reg bed.

as for a free roll-away, I do Not know the answer but is an award stay allowed for more then 2 people in the room? If not then the Hotel can charge for the bed but you would be in your right to ask and get the $100.
