Hi,
I am traveling with my wife and 1.5month old infant from RDU to NYC and from there my wife will be visiting family in India with our son. I will be in NYC in the meantime and after 3 months i will be visiting india and will be coming back with my wife and son back to NYC and then back to RDU.

Since it was a last minute plan we couldnt get direct flights, so we had to book flight from RDU to NYC via Delta and then from NYC to Delhi via Dubai via Emirates, and back to NYC via emirates again and from NYC to RDU via AA>

Now Emirates allow a 50lbs allowance per bag (2 for me and my wife and 1 for our son who will be in lap) but Delta and AA dont allow a 50lbs bag allowance for our infant. According to them my wife can carry only 2 bags of 50lbs each when she visits India and if we want to carry a bag for our infant we need to pay 80$'s extra!

Is there some way or some rule that we could be allowed to carry our sons bag from RDU to NYC and back? Any suggestions??
