Lots of possibilities really. And there will always be businesses that insist their staff travel on the absolute rock bottom cheapest fare, so there is likely to be some demand on Jester Airlines for the 0600 serivce SYD-MEL. Maybe not for a flight every 30 mins, but perhaps at 0600, 0730, 0900 for the morning "rush"
Given that wherever a budget carrier going head to head its parent has failed (go, tango, even freedom air closer to home), I'd be surprised they'd touch mainline routes. If as they say they are planning to expand the leisure markets, don't know how they can offer even that minimal frequency on mainline with just 23 planes. Do some math, on current QF schedules:
OOL - 4 planes to serve MEL/SYD
CNS - 6 planes to serve MEL/SYD/BNE
MCY/HTI - 2 planes for BNE/SYD
There goes half the fleet, without even touching DRW, AYQ, ASP, BME, ROK, TSV, LST or "new" routes.
