Which was his entire point - at the moment, by adjusting the fares on offer, QF are able to cater for your business pax in the peaks and your leisure paxs during the off-peak.

By keeping the business SLC on QF but diverting the leisure SLC to Jetstar, those planes which are full of business SLC during the morning peak won't have many people wanting to fly in them during the middle of the day.

Likewise, Jetstar's leisure SLC won't really want to be on an 0600 flight from SYD to MEL, so what will they be doing during the peaks? Carrying high-yield business SLC? Don't think so.
