ANZ Visa have been astounded at the loss of business and ALL the bad feed back they have getting. Hence the 5000 points for a new card, etc.
The 80 / 20 rules is in effect. 80% of the money goes on 20% of the cards. The cost of processing is on a per purchase. The ANZ income is on % of dollar spent. They are really hurting.
A very very large number of cards are not being renewed each month, where the normal spend is over $2500. They did not expect such a massive card cancellation. Normally over 97% of cards are automatically renewed. The Diner card take up has been a failure. They did not seem to realise that people who spend a lot on cards are likely to have at least one other, and its more likely to be Amex or Dinners.
ANZ ---> What a bunch of *ankers
