For some time, you used to be able to transfer 1:1 between certain airlines using the Amtrak trick. I wasn't sure if that trick, or a similar one, still existed. Alternatively, I'm requesting help with ideas to amass 50K miles. I have no expectation of anything beyond that. I agree, 50% AA->CO isn't bad. I could sign up for a 25K AA card, and then transfer to CO. So it gets me 12.5K closer, which is a nice addition.
