Sorry about that. I was referring specifically to the 5k EQMs for ticket purchases on united.com, which is capped at 5K EQMs per card per year. You're right, you should be able to switch to another plat MP card and charge additional ticket purchases on that one.
I don't know about the bonus EQMs for new card accounts currently, although I did receive them for the my 2nd card late last year. However, Chase had not clamped down on the bonuses for new cards at that point.
